I'm running on SAP NW7.02 wiht DB2

What is the best practice for scheduling standard jobs and jobs defined on ad-hoc basis.

For standard jobs, can I schedule SAP Standard jobs with a user having sap_all / sap_new authorizations or using ddic or create a user with authorizations as

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/5f/ff2138faeb3807e10000009b38f889/frameset.htm

In the last case, I'm not able to navigate to SM36 for scheduling the standard jobs using default scheduling.

Hi,

Please refer these SAP notes. I recommend you to schedule by DDIC user.

16083 Standard jobs, reorganization jobs

1034532 Changes for standard jobs

The note 16083 points to schedule with DDIC user.

Hi,

You can use SM36 to schedule standard jobs.

Either select the jobs you want and have them run based on your requirement or select default scheduling.

For a start you may select default scheduling for all standard jobs. Later, you may increase the frequency of jobs based on business requirements.

You can also create a user specifically for background jobs with required authorizations. You may assign sap_all to a non dialog user as well for background jobs.

Hope this helps.
