Hi,
I would like to analyse the structure of one of my cubes (assignment of InfoObjects to dimensions, should I use line dimensions, smaller dimensions? etc); I know that there is the transaction RSRV but I don't find a suitable test...
How could I analyze the performance of a cube?
Thanks!
Hi Steve,
RSRV is mainly used to perform various checks for analysis & repair of various BW objects and in case of errors it can be used to correct them. But for performance of infocube due to its underlying dimensions can be checked using a program called "SAP_INFOCUBE_DESIGNS" which can be used to check the performance of your cube design wise. The program will provide the dimension size of each dimension for you cubes. Ideally the dimension size should not be more than 10%, If yes then you will need to make changes accordingly.
Some of the points that you should consider while infocube designing are also being discussed in the below threads. Please refer them as well.
Please refer the below SCN link for Multidimensional Modelling. It would be helpful or you.
Hope that your query is answered.
Thanks

Hi Steve,
Have the statistics been already created or not?"SAP_INFOCUBE_DESIGNS" will show your cube after statistic for cubes have already been created. If the statistics have not been created, try creating statistics first & then run the program again.
For this just right click on your cube -> Manage -> Click on performance tab -> Create "DB Statistics (Btch). Montitor this job under your id in SM37.
Once the statistics have been created just run the program again and check the details again. Also try checking the function module "RSDEW_INFOCUBE_DESIGNS". SE37 - > Program Name -> Cube Name.
Also check the below link, it will be surely helpful to you.. also do consider the links mentioned in all the above posts as well..
Please check the recently resolved thread aswell:
Hope you are able to perform your analysis.
Thanks

Hi,
Look at following points
1. Sizing and no of fields in the dimensions
2. Line dimensions
3. size of dimension table vs fact table size of cube
4. Compression of request
5. Aggregates suitable for query. System proposals and actuals
6. Index creation
7. BIA for cube and query
Look at following links as well

Thanks and regards
