Local SLD not updating a central SLD

Former Member

Hi,

In my company landscape, I have

SolMan7.1 with Central SLD (Let's call this SLDA)

Portal 7.02 with local SLD (Let's call this SLDB)

ECC6

Both the Portal and ECC systems are updating SLDB, so I can see both technical systems in SLDB.

SolMan is updating SLDA, so I can see SolMan technical system in SLDA.

I linked SLDB to SLDA via

From SLDB> administration> data suppliers --> add SLDA

For this setting, I use the user SLDDSUSER, which have a role LcrInstanceWriterAll.

The problem now is SLDA does not get the data from SLDB. In SLDA, I see only the SolMan Technical System.

How often does SLDB update SLDA? Can we manually trigger an update SLDB->SDLA?

How can we troubleshoot the SLDB -> SLDA update?

What else needs to be configured other than "From SLDB> administration> data suppliers --> add SLDA" ?

Thanks

Hi,

Ideally if you perform a Data trigger via the NW 7.02 system's Visual Admin -> data supplier bridge, the data should flow to the central SLD as well. And considering there are only two systems in the SLD, this should not take much time also.

Hi Srikishan,

Yes, if I do a data trigger of Portal from VA, it updates SLDB. If I do a trigger from ECC RZ70, it updates SLDB.

The problem now is SLDB does not update SLDA

Hi,

Please check whether you have performed all steps as per below link:

Hi Sunny,

yes I have done those steps. Very short and easy setup steps to link to another SLD.

OK, just one thing to confirm here.

After Add SLD, the SLD URL syntax should be http://host:port correct?

I have tried all sorts of entires for the URL

http://host:port

http://host:port/sld

http://host:port/

All not working

Checked the user, user is ok, even tried giving the user Administrator role and still not working

Hi,

OK, this is strange - as there is no manual way of trigger for data transfer between SLDs.

Also, did you restart the SLD server after adding the SLD bridge?

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi71/helpdata/en/43/da21ba13660aa5e10000000a1553f6/content.htm

http://host:port/ works fine for our landscape.

Hi,

I have restart SAP/SLD systems, but still no sync.

Is the sync using a different port number and not using HTTP?

Hi,

Are you pushing data transfer in one direction or bidirectional ?

I had one conversation earlier with same problem, check below thread:

I think you should raise an OSS with SAP.

Thanks

One direction, only from SLDB to SLDA

From SLDB--> administration--> data suppliers --> add SLDA

The problem now is SLDA does not get the data from SLDB. In SLDA, I see only the SolMan Technical System.

Have you created a Datasupplier in SLDA by providing the info of SLDB host, port and the ds user?

Thanks

Hi Srikanth,

from where do I do that? Visual Admin?

From SLDA> administration> data suppliers --> add SLDB , use SLDDSUSER of SLDB.

Check the 'change log' for the sldb info in slda.

Hi Srikanth,

I don't really understand why this setting you mentioned is needed, but I have followed your suggestion and did it anyway. Result is still the data transfer from SLDB to SLDA is not working.

I have the same scenario,

Portal Local SLD, Solman Central SLD for other systems, I have created BI DIrectional SLD, which is working fine for me.

But

Have you checked the SLDA host:port/sld-> Administtration-> log----> check for SLDDSUSER error';s which are usually populated every 10 minutes (I Guess).

And also paste the SLDB---- hotst:port/SLD > admin--> log here.

Thanks

Hi Nick,

Perhaps you can check is "Landscape fetch" scheduled and completed successfully??

For us, we are forwarding the XI SLD to SOLMAN and whenever i want to update the SLD contents in solman, i just manually trigger "Landscape fetch" and get updated.

Cheers,

Hi Nicholas,

the problem I am facing now is SLD is not getting the data from another SLD.

Hi,

Have logged a message to SAP Support and have been provided the solution.

In order for this sync to work, the Object server field for each SLD must be unique. I have left them all defaulted to value localhost, which is why the sync fails.

I am refering to the setting under SLD -> Administration -> Profile -> Section:ALL -> Object Server field. I put in the respective host name of each SLD server as value, and the sync works immediately.
