Failed activation of activities in MII/NWDS - Permissions

Former Member

Hi all,

Activation of activities on our MII server (12.1.5 build 99; Windows Server 2008 R2, SQL Server 2008) is failing consistently.

MII log states there are permission issues but missing permission requirement difficult to ascertain The user in question has full MII permissions and all NWDI groups.

How do we do further analysis on this?

Thanks in advance.

Mark

The following entry is in the J2EE trace logfile:

Hi Mark,

Can you be more specific on the types of activities that you are performing?

Hi Mike,

Sure.

- Have created an action within a shared project, and assigned to an activity.

- Select the activity via Activation view (BLS Workbench - Source Control - Activation View) and click Activate. Note activation number.

- Review the activation via (BLS Workbench - Source Control - Show Activation Requests). Status shows as failed.

- Review logs - see aboove for results..

Hi Mark,

Let me make sure I understand what you are doing.

Create an activity in NWDI within MII.

Checkout some MII object.

Create/Modify/Delete the object or objects (webpage, query/display template, transaction or other MII object).

Save the object(s)

Check the object(s) back in to NWDI

Attempt to activate after check-in.

Is this the right sequence of events?

Mike

Hi Mike,

Yes that is the process.

I would suggest getting someone with Full NW Admin privileges to give it a try. Outside of that, it sounds like a NW issue more than a MII issue. MII is simply uses NW functionality.

Wish I could help more, but it does sound like you are doing all the steps correctly.

Mike

Hi Mark

Please check the CBS logs for the activation request submitted by you. There should be more information there. You can log on to CBS with the URL http://<host>:<port>/webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/tc.CBS.WebUI/WebUI.

Go to Requests and search for your user and check the request log.

If you can fix this then it is fine. Else please post it here and one of use should be able to help you.

regards

Partha
