PI Message Archive and Delete

Hi Guys,

How will check PI messages whether particular messgae we can do ARCHIVE or particular message we can DELETE ?

Can any one one pls help me on this how to check in PI.

Hi Naveen,

My Basis team is doing PI Messages Archiving and Deletion.

We have messages in PI, it can be in Adapter Engine or Integration Engine.

How will check whether that particular message we can "DELETE" or "ARCHIVE".

The interfaces selected for archiving can be viewed at -

sxmb_adm -> IE administration -> COnfiguration -> Define Interfaces for archiving and retention periods.

You can also verfiy whether a particular message is marked for archival or deletion by examining the soap header

sxmb_moni -> select the message -> SOAP Header -> Runtime -> Check <SAP:InterfaceAction>

Hi Nagarjuna,

I checked messages as per your steps, but i can see all the messages "DEL" only, i dont see any messages status as "ARCHIEVE"

SAP:InterfaceAction>DEL</SAP:InterfaceAction.

Can u pls expalin me how to find out "ARCHIVE" messages also...

As mentioned above, pls check

sxmb_adm -> IE administration -> COnfiguration -> Define Interfaces for archiving and retention periods.

for the interfaces marked for archival.

The messages for the interfaces that are not marked for archival will be deleted. (Provided both the archival and deletion jobs are running fine).

Hi Siva,

In SXMB_ADM (t-code) >>> Define Interfaces for Archiving and Retention Periods.

Mention all the interfaces for which you intend the archive the messages.

Click on Multiple Selection>>>> Select all required interfaces >>>> Press F8.

All interfaces will apprear under u2018Interfaces to Be Archivedu2019. Messages of all interfaces that are excluded here will be marked for deletion.
