Hi SAP Gurus,
My requirement is as follows,
I need to print xls file from desktop using smartforms.
I have searched all the forums but not found any solution,
Please help!
Thanks & Regards,
Pavan.
.....probably because there's no solution
I don't know if I really understand what you mean
But all you can do it it's tp upload your' excel file into internal table (you can use fm GUI_UPLOAD) and print the datain a generic smartforms, bu it's not easy to create a dimanyc output for a smartform.
So what do you really need to do?
Max

Hi Max,
Thanks for your reply,
The data maintained in the excel is not static, it may contain any data not necessaraly rows and coloumns.
The actual requirement is to print the a file(DMS) maintained in maintenence order(IW31).
For this I have used FM: BAPI_DOCUMENT_CHECKOUTVIEW2 by passing DOCUMENTTYPE, DOCUMENTNUMBER, DOCUMENTPART and DOCUMENTVERSION and got the file into my local drive, Now I am trying to print that file..
Please suggest!
Thanks and Regards,
Pavan.
Hi Pavan,
I have worked on similar requirement, which involved printing of attachments in transaction IW32.
For that development, I downloaded all the selected attachements on my desktop and then printed them using method u2018CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES=>EXECUTEu2019 with document path and u2018Printu2019 command to print the document.
CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES=>EXECUTE
Exporting
Document = w_filename
Operation = 'PRINT'.
You can refer below thread where I have explained how to do that. It was not possible to generate a spool for this printing, so directly used print command.

Hi Pavan,
I am also unable to understand your query.
If you want to print the excel sheet why are you using smartform?
Is it that you want to print the file from your desktop or application server?
You can use method u2018CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES=>EXECUTEu2019 with document path and u2018Printu2019 command to print the document on your desktop.
Thanks,
Archana
