Printing through SAP

Hello everyone,

Not sure if this is the right forum for this question:

At the moment we are printing via SAP by choosing a printer defined in SAP as a local printer, so the print goes out via whichever default printer is setup on my PC (for e.g Printer A). This works fine.

Now , we want to schedule printing in background so that the printout goes to a particular printer( Printer A ) . It is the same printer . but I gues I will need to define as a SAP printer ? Any ideas , how to go about this ? I am not a BAsis Consultant , or will it require some extensive Basis skills ?

Regards

Hi

You have to set the property while creating the job with required settings.

Thanks, but my question is, Do I need to define the same printer as a SAP printer or Can I use it using the LOCL itself ?

Hi

You can select the LOCL printer only and adjust the settings.

Hi,

See the SAP help page about setting up output devices via transaction SPAD.

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp1/helpdata/en/7e/36e4c4

For background printing, you could set up an output device with Acess method S, where the printer is defined on a windows print server runninn SAPSprint.(see SAP note ##894444)
