Email notification not working

Hi All,

The email notification step in my workflow is not working.

I am getting "MDM server error" but I have maintained right entries in MDS.ini.

Please help me troubleshoot.

Hi Karthik,

Check the folllowing:

1.Mail server name mentioned in the MDS.ini file

2.Firewall in the network.

3.Try sending mail from OS using cmd

4.Check email id correctness

Please come back with these findings.

Hi,

I am able to ping server from mdm and also I am able to send mail using cmd.

Emalid is correct.

The log says MDM server error.

I have also MDS.ini parameters.

Please help.

HI Karthik,

Increase the Time parameter to few minutes instead of 1 sec.

Please test and let me know.

Hi,

Since everything seems to in order.

Wht happens is the MDM Server tries to connect with the mail server with the time parameter set in the mds.ini file

and if MDM doesn't receive any acknowledge back, the get and error, so as likely mentioned increase the time parameter in the mdm.ini file and restart the server

your mail trigger will start working

Hi,

Please checl that MDM user has email id in his profile.

Also enter the Full host name of the mail server in mds.ini - Mail Server parameter.

If still not working, then try to ping the mail server from your MDM server. Also paste the maximum of log talking about this error.

Ask your mail/network/OS server team whether they have some settings to be enabled for other systems to use the mail server.
