Hi All,

I have started learning APO Modules. I need to know some concepts of Phantoms or Phantom bombs. My questions are

What are Phantoms or Phantom bombs? How phantoms are brought from ECC to APO? and How can we find or recognize Phantoms in ECC? Also How would we come to know that which Phantom is for which product?

Thanks

Shaan

HI,

First of all I would like to correct that it is not bomb.. it is BOM(Bill of Material).

Here is the definition of Phantom from SAP

A phantom assembly is created in engineering to describe a number of components and manage them as a whole.
The components in a phantom assembly are immediately placed in the superior assembly.
Components in an assembly are first assembled to produce the header material.
Then header material is placed in the superior assembly.

Example

The phantom assembly "set of wheels" contains the components "front wheel" and "rear wheel."
The front and rear wheels are immediately placed in the "bicycle" assembly.
The "light" assembly contains the materials "bulb" and "reflector."
The light components are first assembled and then the light is attached to the bicycle.

Please refer the below link on how to transfer phantom assemblies to APO
