Restricting users in LSMW to only change step 7 "Specify File"

Hi All,

Our ECC system is just recently upgraded to SAP_BASIS component 700, SP level 21. Before the upgrade, users are allowed to choose file in the step7 - "Specify File", but is not allowed to change mode on the other "steps"

After the upgrade, when users try to execute step7-"Specify File", they are receiving message as below:

You only have authorization 'EXECUTE' and not

'CHANGE'.

The role is restricted in the object B_LSMW with actvt = 03, 16.

No change done in the role, and this error is not encountered.

Before the upgrade, the system SP level is 10.

Can anyone explain why after the upgrade, the issue is encountered.

Likewise, if this is something resulted to program corrected by SAP, as stated in SAP Note 1168397, can anyone recommend ways to restrict user in LSMW to only allow them to change in "specify file", but not on the other steps.

Hi,

check OSS note 995302. It seems like it was a bug and it got fixed by that note. You need to have authorization for change to modify any step. It's part of SP 17 for 7.00.
