Changing of the SRM backend client

Hi all,

We are currently have a doing a splitting of the system due to company split.

The approach is to do a OS/DB migration for SRM. All data will be copied to the new system and we will delete the data of the other company. After the OS/DB migration, we will need to redifine the new backend client.

Does anyone know if there is any function to identify redefine all the backend ECC client?

Also what are the tables of existing records with the backend records shall we look out for?

Regards,

Wei

Please check the details of T.code BDLS( Logical system conversion).

This may help you.

Hi,

Thanks. You are right BDLS is the right transaction.

I saw a SAP Note 995771 where one of the pointers to note is the data consistency between SRM and all connected systems. There will be a referencing guid in the material, material group and business partner in the R/3 system.

As the migration strategy for us is to copy every records for SRM while R/3 we are using ALE to migrate specific records only. Hence, does anyone knows what are the tables in R/3 having the referencing SRM guid so that we can build a customize programs to migrate those records as well?

Also, our Shopping Cart is created in SRM and has a follow-on Reservation, PO and GR in the R/3, if we migrate the did not migrate the R/3 Reservation, PO and GR but everything in SRM still keeps the same, will there be any error in the Shopping Cart in SRM?

Thanks!

Best Regards,

Wei

Or is there any other tables we should look out for based on the strategy described above.

Thanks!
