In the configtool I can see the Instance Name of each element in my cluster - where can I find the physical name of the server where the instance is located?

Additionally is there anyway to locate which server is the CI from the ConfigTool?

Thanks

Patrick

Hello Patrick,

You can find this information using the NWA tool:

NWA->system Management-> Overview.

I hope this helps you.

Hi Patrick,

If you see "JCxx" in the instance name then this is Central Instance.

If you see "Jxx" in the instance name then it is non CI server i.e. application servr.

Thanks

Hi Patrick,

Each instance that you can see in the configtool is uniquely identifiable by the Instance ID

Another way to identify the instance and corresponding server is to compare the Instance ID mentioned in configtool and the instance.properties file on CI / app servers.

Path of instance.properties file: /usr/sap/<SID>/J*/j2ee/cluster

The instance.properties file contains information for all the server nodes visible in configtool along with the parameter values.

Hope this helps.
