Hi
I am new SAP Plant maintenance, and I am very much confused in the concept & usage of
(a) Maintenance Bill of Material (b) Construction type (c) PM Assembly.
Do all these terms/concepts are same?
Hi,
1. BOM:- Refers to structure of Material /eqpt /f.loc etc
2. In PM we have 03 type of BOMs :- Equipment BOM, F.LOC BOM, Material BOM
3. Equipment BOM :- Means specific to that equipment
Material BOM:- Means can be used for any equipment ..
Ex :- If u have 10 Motors of 5W & One special type of motor then
U can create a Material of name MOTOR , create a material BOM with all the components like shaft, bearings, windings etc and assign this material BOM as consutruction type in IE02 for all the 10 Motors ..
Similarly for special type of Motor ->Which has some differnt parts than regular motors u can create an equipment BOM , thus this would be specific to that eqpt only
Thus Material BOM reduces work ..
6. PM Assembly means again a structure :- example if u Take Car as an eqpt -> engine will be an assembly and this would further have sturucture means a material BOM , which is used again in another Material BOM or eqpt BOM ..
