Hi Pero,

Welcome to SDN

One of the pre-installation steps is create an enviromental variable called "JAVA_HOME" that points to the bin directory of your java installation. That will solve the problem.

In windows, go to System properties -> Advance -> Environment variables -> System variables -> Select new -> define variable name as JAVA_HOME with appropiate value.

Hope this help!

Hi Juan,

thanx for your response.

You are right bout "JAVA_HOME", but my problem is of the other kind. I'm working on hpux box, and my variable path is set as it should be.

Problem lies somewhere else.

I'm keep on trying...

Yupp I had the same trouble but on Solaris and DB2. What I'd forgot was to set the JAVA_HOME variable before I started sapinst. Even if I did set the variable and restarted sapinst it didn'r work.

Then I cleared /install/XX/XX directory and when I then started sapinst with the variable set it did work.

Hope it helps you out.

Cheers,

Mathias
