Hello,
I am Getting
"SMTP Error Code : <530>. For more information, see your SMTP server manual" error, While configuring SMTP in Data Services 4.0 system. I have tried executing the SMTP_TO function on another DS machine which has 3.2 verion installed, but getting the same error.
FYI,
1) Able to telnet the Exchange server through Data service machine
2) Maintained SMTP settings in Data services server manager
3) using the same SMTP server host name in other SAP systems (ECC,BI,PI) etc and able to send mails.
Regards
Puneet
Hi Puneet,
Are you able to compose a complete email using the telnet command fromt he DI server?
You can find an example here:
https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1573029
It could be caused by certain policy in your Exchange server: not allowing relay from the DI server, that account name, destination, etc.

Julian

Hi Puneet,
Your server requires authentication in order to send emails.
If you want to test it using telnet, you require to use authentication. It is described in different websites. For example:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa995718(EXCHG.65).aspx
You will require to encode your username and password in base 64.

Julian
Thanks for the reply Julian.
There was a problem in SMTP relay rights on Exchange server. Able to send mails now. Thanks!
Getting another problem wherein I am not able to send mails to multiple recipients i.e. If I specify 5 recipients in SMTP_TO function and execute the job then Every individual is getting E-Mail having there own ID in TO field, other Id's are not gettting displayed in TO field.
I hve checked note "1276348 - smtp_to function - multiple recipients not displayed"
Settings mentioned in the note have been done and job is getting executed without any error but the mails are not getting delivered.
It would be great if anyone can suggest on how to proceed here.
Thanks & Regards
Puneet
Dear Puneet Singh
I had got the same error with you. When I sent email with telnet, I am getting a message stating"
"530 5.7.1 client was not authenticated", I wanted to know how to setting relay rights on Exchange server. Which relay right must I assign, I can compose a complete email using the telnet command from my server to the exchange server?
Thanks very much!
Dear Sudarshan
I never configure gmail, maybe there are some other limitations with gmail.

Hi we are configuring Google SMTP getting below error..
Message no. XS856
The message was processed successfully in the SAP system. The mail server that is to receive the message for further processing requires authentication. Probably there is no logon data specified in the SAPconnect configuration.
smtp.gmail.com:587
530 5.7.0 Must issue a STARTTLS command first. i91sm11178241qgd.25 - gsmtp
Enter the logon data in the SAPconnect node.
Using Gmail SMTP server using "smtp.gmail.com" with port 587
Please advise.

Sudarshan
