AES Filing for Ocean Shipments

Hello,

We are in the process of testing export customs declaration with AES using our SAP GTS system for Ocean Shipments ( Mode of transport 10).

AES system is returning the following two error messages after filing;

PORT OF UNLADING UNKNOWN

TRANS REF NBR MISSING

Where can I find these two fields in the customs declaration?

Should I be downloading port codes from a data provider?

Hi Venkat,

As far as I remember, the Port of Unlading is a 5-digit code in the "Point of Destination" field ("Geography" tab). Sorry - I don't know where you should obtain the codes.

And the Transportation Reference Number should be added to a "Bill of Lading" or "Master Airway Bill" ("Documents/Evidence" tab).

I tried sending customs declaration to AES with these two test cases and still getting the error message.

Test 1:

Documents/Evidence Tab

Type of Document: HDOC - Submitted Documents

Type - BOLS - Bill of Lading

Number - 1234567890

Test 2:

Documents/Evidence Tab

Type of Document: HDOC - Submitted Documents

Type - MAWB - Master Air Waybill

Number - 1234567890

I was able to download port codes from AES website and loaded to GTS. This error is now gone

Hi Venkat,

On the "Transportation" tab, make sure that you have entered the appropriate "Mode of Transport at Border". I think that's also part of the data required for the Transport Reference Number.
