IDOC vs Enterprise Services

Dear All,

Example scenario : sales order create in SAP .

In this case what is the value with Eneterprise services over Idocs?

If i've understood correctly Enterprise services delivered by SAP only gives us WSDL ( Message Structure) however to use this we have to build a ABAP proxy ( Coding ) at the back end .

In this situation isnt it a good idea to use Idoc from SAP which has proven and no coding reqd at back end?

am i missing anything here ? Kindly advise .

Its true that you need to generate the proxy and write the code to process Enterprise services.

IDocs are generally standard one and does have process code (as a standard package) along with it. But in case of custom made or extended IDoc we do need to change the process code. It upto the requirement as and when what needs to be used.

you should identify the utilization of ABAP proxy,IDOC,RFC under respective requirement situation.
