Is there any difference between accessing the resource of 'web://' and 'db://' in MII 12.2?

Kindly suggest.

Thanks & Regards,

Hi Ritwika,

With db you can save a file.

while with web the file will not only save but also publish on the web server.

so if you are accessing any file save with db path you will get page not found (404) error.

and it will work find if saved it with web path.

A common scenario to use web:// instead of db:// as Anshul outlined is to create/update a chart object in a transaction and save it as a image file for later use in a webpage. By saving and publishing it as an image, it can be referenced directly within your webpage or UI.

Mike

Hi ,

Juz to add to other views

"web" will save and publish the file to a particular server which can, later on ,be used by anyone connected to that server.

"db" restrict the file to local machine and cannot be available for others to access.
