So you check the particular service in SICF and make sure that you have proper work center roles assigned to your userid.

Thanks

Have you completed System preparation and Basis configuration step in t.code Solman_setup .

Please check the solman_setup, it has all the configuration steps.

Also please check the Basis configuration step 5.Configure Automatically -> Activate service

Please completed this step and logon using solman_admin or having same authorization user.

Karthik.

Greetings Karthik,

I have the same problem as the original poster. I am trying to go through SOLMAN_SETUP, but I need Maintenance Optimizer to complete it.

For example, under System Prep, Diagnostics Prerequisites, I find the BI_CONT 705 is at SP1 and needs at least SP2. (Why that happens after a fresh install from the latest media is a mystery to me, but so it is)

So I put BI_CONT 705 SP3 into my Download Basket, but it now needs approval. I can't do that without Maintenance Optimizer, but I can't configure Maintenance Optimizer until I complete System Prep?

There must be a way.

Thanks,

Dave

Greetings DatabaseSAP:

My apologies - I am an experienced SAP Developer but a rookie at Basis.

How do I know "the particular service in SICF" to check? There are so many I can't determine which will help me with Maintenance Optimizer.

Thanks,

Dave

HI David

If you need to find a SICF service that is not working for you and you get an URL like the one in your message, the name of the service is written in the URL. In you case it is " ags_workcenter" that has not been activated.

You can search for this in SICF ( also in the URL the whole string on where you can find this service is written )

Hello David

There are multiple services that have to be active in order for ABAP Web Dynpro to work properly.

You can confirm your download without using the "official way":

[Blog post how to approve downloads without maintenance optimizer|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/26754] [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken];

This works in SolMan 7.0 EHP1 and SolMan 7.1, version doesn't really matter.

Idea to remove download basket approvals:

Kind regards

Tom

David,

Enter transaction Code SICF

Expand Default_Host

Navigate down the tree to /sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/ags_workcenter

If it is bolded, then it is activated. You can right click on it to Activate it if required.

There is also the option to "test service"

If you test it should launch your browser, or open a tab, if it is already opened.

Paul

Dave,

You can raise a message on component SV-SMG-MAI-APR to get the download basket approved.

Paul
