Common DC just for Materials MD - not for Customer MD.

Hi,

I'm looking for a method to apply common distribution channel logic just for Material master data. Bit it should exclude Customer MD.

i.e.: we would like to create material master data only in 1 distribution channels, but for customers we will have to differentiate the data based on distribution channel that's why we don't want common DC for Customers.

Does anyone know a way to do it?

Dear Zeynep,

I think in standart it is not possible.. But;

Abapers can maintain user exit EXIT_SAPMF02D_001 in order to give error..

So users can not create new customer for that dist. channel..

Thnx for your reply but this is not the solution I'm affraid. Because, once the common Distribution channel customizing (VOR1) is done, we can maintain only in 1 DC for both customer and material MD.

Let me give an example:

Let's say I have below table in VOR1:

Sales Org Disti. Chann Reference Dist. Channel

0001 01 01

0001 02 01

So in that case, I can only create materials and customer in Sales area 0001/01. During all sales activities, system will copy from 0001/01 all the master data in case we enter an order 0001/02.

But I'm looking for a method where I will continue to create all master data in only 0001/01, but I should be able to block some of the customers to place orders in sales area 0001/02.( even though we don't maintain this sales area because of VOR1 customizing.)
