Hi Gurus

We are using period billing. We want the billing to be done quarterly. And the requirement is that the total amount should be equally divided in 4 parts (for 4 quarters). But when we use calculation type B in pricing condition, it does not divide the value in 4 equal amount, instead it bills the total value 4 times. E.G.- the total amount is 100 then we want it to be 25 for each quarter. But with Calculation type B it gives 100 for each quarter. Please suggest.

Hi Brajesh

It is the standard system behviour that the billing plan price is calculated using the

condition value considering the calculation type and the number of days in the period.

To get what you are looking for you can do as follows:

Create an annual price eg 100 Euro KONP-KRECH = 'N'

In the customising of the billing plan type transaction OVBI

Set the next billing date to - Quarterly

Set the Nr of days in the year to 360 and the Nr of days in the month to 30.

With these setting the standard calculation will be 100 (yearly price)

divided by 4 even periods resulting in 4 x 25 Euro for each period

in the year.

I hope this helps you further

Kind regards

Thanks Brian .Just want to know if making number of days 360 will have any impact elsewhere like pricing at item level or it is just for billing plan. Since for pricing we are using number of days 366 per uear.

Hi Brajesh

The number of days in the month and year is only used to drive the calculation

and distribution of the amount in the periodic billing plan lines. It does not affect the actual

calculation of the conditions.

All the best

Hi Brajesh,

The Unit of Measure for the item pricing cannot be "ea". If you are using periodic billing and want to bill $100 in 4 buckets of $25 per qtr, your price has to be in time buckets too. You have to define the price as UOM "annual". Try changing the UOM for the item price in VK12 and then perform price update in the periodic billing sales document. You will see the system calculating price as $25 each qtr in the billing plan screen.

Thanks

Thanks Kapil. Just wanted to know if calculation type B will be correct or somebody suggested I should change it to N(Quantity-Yearly Pricing).

Hi,

Can you please have the calculation type from M to P as applicable in your case, and then try. It should work For example M for monthly N for yearly etc...

We use these calculation types in our periodic billing and it works fine for the past 7yrs!!!

Hi Kapil

Thanks for solution. We want that the total amount should get divided in 4 equal parts. But right now it is getting calcuated based on number of days in each quarter.that is why there is mismatch in every quarter value.
