i am getting " protal error....... "

Hi...

I have integrated my iview on EP... when i click on preview i am getting the following error....

Portal Runtime Error

An exception occurred while processing a request for :

iView : N/A

Component Name : N/A

Application URL ':///webdynpro/dispatcher/local/ValueHelpDemoProjec/ValueHelpApplication' is not valid! Please check the protocol and host entries for system 'sap_r3'..

See the details for the exception ID in the log file

com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap.WebDynpro::HTTPRenderLayer

i have integrated one iview which doesnt have any connection to R3 (back end)its a simpel application.... but still i am getting the same error.....

why i am getting this errors...

please help me...

Hi,

I think the application name and the namespace is not correct. Ensure that both are correct.

namespace should be something like:

local/<projectname>

Make sure you also edit the WAS in the portalsystem

you have to be administrator on the portal:

go to the system admin tab,

System Configuration

search the system

open the system object and in the pull down you find the Web Applicatio Server.

WAS Description: local host

WAS host name: <name portal incl the port>

In system Configuration i didnt find any system object.... can u please clearly tell me how to get the system object

I think he means the system properties. just doubleclick the system

System means SAP R/3 system which we configured in portal?

after setting the WAS do we need to restart the server...?

Hi Eoin Cronan,

Thanks for ur help now its working but now i am getting the follwoing error

Unable to lookup System 'SAP_R3'. Please check the system object and the alias..

but in error page if i change the Mandatory Parameters of System to sap_r3 its working.... by default i am getting the SAP_LocalSystem how to change the system to sap_r3 system...

please help me

did you solve your problem?

if you open the content administrator tab. you open the Iview en choose show all information. somewhere there you acn adjust the system.

Problem Solved:

Just go to system admin -> system configuration -> webdynpro system -> righ click -> permission -> add user which is having this problem -> check end user option
