Technical Upgrade from XI 3.0 to PI 7.1

Hi,

My client is going for Technical Upgrade from XI 3.0 to PI 7.1 not fresh installation. They are asking for How best we can achieve this. I have gone through Decision making document and upgrade document from SAP. Apart from which please provide me the valuable Inputs like what measures we need to take care before and after upgrade as an XI developer. In our project about 90% of interfaces are having java mapping. will there be any changes to be done after upgrade.

java mappings will still continue to work.

But you might have to modify some graphical mapping, java proxies and modules if any

After any upgrade, there has to be a testing phase to evaluate impact.

your primary checks should be around SLD, cache and basic connectivity.

Hi Shabarish,

In our project we have lots of Java mapping exist in xi system. What would be the impact of java mapping after PI 7.1 upgrade.

My main concern is java mapping issues. Let me know if you have come across any such issue and also how did you rectify it.
