Upgrade Solution Manager 4 to 7.1

Hi all,

Is it possible to have a direct upgrade from a solution manager 4 to 7.1? Or do i need to do other installation or upgrade before it is comparable for 7.1?

Hello,

Solution manager 4 is synonymous with Solution Manager 7.0

The upgrade guide refere to the source system being

SAP Solution Manager 7.0

SAP Enhancement Package 1 for Solution Manager 7.0

And the target system being SAP Solution Manager 7.1

Therefore the answer is yes, you can upgrade from release 4.0/7.0 to 7.1

Something to clarify. Since solution manager 4 is renamed to solution manager 7.0, is the solution manager 4.0 under the platform of 7.0? Hence, do i still need to perform the upgrade to actual solution manager 7.0?

Hi,

As Paul mentioned, it is only a name change. Everything else remains the same. SolMan 4.0 is 7.0 and vice versa.

An upgrade from 4.0 to 7.0 is not possible because 4.0 is 7.0 You might rename this thread description as Upgrade Solution Manager 7.0 to 7.1.

Another question. From solution manager 7.0 to 7.1, do i need to go thru the upgrade of the solution manager 7.0 EHP1? Or directly upgrade to 7.1 bypass the 7.0 EHP1?

Hi Gary,

Direct upgrade to SolMan 7.1 is possible. Would not need to go through 7.01.
