Good morning,
Did you see an article, blog or publication containing a clear comparison between SAP HANA and SAP BIA / BWA?
Regards,
Arelis
Hi Arelis,
you wouldn't find such a comparison because it's comparing apples and oranges.
BIA works only in combination with a SAP BW system. It doesn't need to understand SQL, it doesn't need to be ACID compliant, in short it doesn't need to be a database.
HANA on the other side, provides all the functionalities that a BIA delivers (ok - no blade system, but a multiple server system instead...) PLUS HANA is a real database.
It's ACID compliant. It does SQL. It can be backed up and recovered.
And it does work without a SAP BW system. You can load your operational data into it and report right on it.
WIth the next versions of HANA you will also be able to use a HANA instance as a BIA.
Hope that answers your question.
regards,
Lars
