Master Data is SAP MDM vs MMID in SRM

Hi All

We currently using SRM 7 and MDM 7.1 with backend as ECC 6.0,

For Local Catalogs, We create Master Data in ECC and it realtime flows to SRM 7.

For Vendors who cannot host catalogs, we store data in MDM

Is there an architecture where all Master Data can reside in MDM and flows to ECC and SRM?

Please share your experiences and thoughts.

Any books/links that can help in planning this?
