Printer taking longer time in printing.

Hi,

We are facing issues with a printer which is taking longer time in processing the print requests.

Device type: ZHPLJ425

Printer Model: hp LaserJet 4250

The printer usually finishes the print request in 1 to 5 minutes.

But when the user sends bulk print requests at the same time, it finishes all of them in 1 hour or more as seen in the status of the spool request.

The other printers at the same location are not taking longer time.

Which is not acceptable.

Could you please suggest us what can be the reason for this and if any possible solution is there.

Manu

Hi ,

Please check the status log of that spool request from SP01 and also check the event history .here you can know where it its taking time.

If everything is fine from SAP end check the printer once again to make sure no problem for that side.

Hello,

If you are facing issue only for that particular printer, then check the followings;

1. Check wheteher the printer is having the updated driver or not, if not please update.

2. It seems to be a network printer, so please check whether any stack of queue is still in process which slow the entire process of prnting. This you can check in the the printer portal.

3. Also please check note: 855342

In case any issue, please revert .

Regards,

Nilutpal.

Dear Manu,

Please have a look at SAP note 47067 (Spool work process hangs during job request), also note 529966 (Long waiting times for print output) might be of help
