I have download the lib_dbsl_371-20001179.sar. there

also i read in sap help about download DW.SAR.

So please suggest How to update dbsl library and which file need to download?

Thanks

ganesh, you update DBSL file the same way as a kernel upgrade.

uncompress SAR file, stop SAP and put it in the kernel directory... then start SAP and cross your fingers.,

Dear Eric,

For updating dbsl_lib , I have to download lib_dbslxxxx.sar files,

but what is DW.sar file?

Thanks

Hello,

DW.SAR is for disp+work latest package. However it already gets included in the main kernel files (db independent) themselves but if you want you can update this package to the latest level as well (just as you did for dbsl patch).

Thanks

SAPEXE and SAPEXEDB contains the full kernel,

all other files are only small parts of the kernel.

DW.SAR is not what you need.

you need lib_dbsl***.sar

Hello,

download latest kernel and dbsl patch and replace the old kernel with this new kernel patch and old dbsl patch with new dbsl patch (in kernel directory itself)

For e.g. nw7.0, db dependent part of kernel -

SAPEXEDB_310-20001361.SAR Kernel Part II (for Basis 7.00)

dbsl library - lib_dbsl_317-20001361.sar Database Library

Applying latest dbsl patch is same as applying kernle patch. So replace old dbsl patch file with new one. Extract .SAR file and put it's contents into kernel directory.

try to navigate through this patch (example, you do according to your nw version) -

For new kernel - download both db dependent and db indpendent files.

For dbsl - download latest dbslxxxx.SAR file.

service.sap.com/swdc -> support packages and stacks ->

My Company's Application Components -> Complimentary Software -> SAP KERNEL 64-BIT UNICODE -> SAP KERNEL 7.00 64-BIT UNICODE -> win x64 bit -> mssql (db dependent)

Thanks
