IM & Project budget control

Hi,

My client has a specific requirement in Investment management & project management budget. Here the governance & budget control are done outside SAP.

Now the problem is : when he wants to add budget supplement / change original budget at a lower Position-id (IM32 for example) , first he has to add that additional supplement at the top level capital investment program and at each of the subsequent Position ID levels in the hierarchy - He does not like that.

Is there any way to configure SAP such a way that - when the user changes original budget in IM32 at a lower position-id, it gets automatically reflected in the upper levels of hierarchy including the top most level without any restrictions ?

The client wants the Investment Management program in place - getting rid of it and working at Project levels on budget is not an option as well.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi,

In IM32, under Edit menu you have an option called "Total Up". Try using this once you enter the budget at lower level. This should add the values upwards.

Is there any similar way to Total up from the WBS level in IM52 ?

The total up option is greyed out in IM52

Basically the user wants a total-up from WBS to the top level of ivestment program.

Hi,

IM52 is to distribute the budget from a IM position to its measures. So in any case you would not be able to put a number to a measure more than what is at the position. On the other hand if you distribute a less amount then you should be able to save with out any errors. Are you facing any errors in IM52?

In fact, IM52 works fine as it should be.

But the user wants the budget at IM Position to be increased when he adds budget at WBS level.

In IM52 when budget is added at WBS level, the "Distributed" amount gets added. Is there ny possibility to get

the IM Position "Budget" figure to be increased automatically ?

Hi,

As far as i know this is not possible, becauce normally budget is distributed from Top Down. So unless and untill your IM position has sufficient budget you cannot enter a higher number in the measure.
