I couldn't offline reorgan. a table with LONG or LONG RAW columns.

This afternoon, I tried to do offline reorg. on 2 SAP tables : KOCLU (LONG column), SFDG (LONG RAW :

> brtools

1 = Reorganize tables,

3 - Reorganization action - reorg,

... .... ....

8 - Table reorganization mode (mode) .......... [offline]

But both of them got :

BR1110W Table SAPPRD.SFDG has a LONG (RAW) column

BR1111I Reorganization of table SAPPRD.SFDG will be skipped

But many SAP notes and web sites say we can do offline table reorgan. on those tables with LONG or LONG RAW columns.

Now I am confused :

(1) What does "Offline reorganization" actually mean ?

(2) Does it mean : 8 - Table reorganization mode (mode) .......... [offline] ?

(3) Or does it mean : the "3 - Export tables" and "4 - Import tables" functions of brtools ?

(4) During the action of "long2lob", can my users still access the table ?

(5) I found "long2lob" can shrink the table size as well. Does "long2lob" also do table reorgan.

SAP system is down during the reorganization process

Yes, it is

It is combination of import and export functions. It export the data to the file. Then import it, back. So you can perform the reorganization, by using this way, also
