GRC 5.3 RAR Data Extraction Upload using Legacy Connector fails

During an Extraction upload of 'User' information I found that I could not upload User data with any special characters.

Sample User file:

AAPABLAZA Apablaza Hernan 331

ABARAHONA Barahona Neira 201

ABARRERA Barrera Antonio 220

ABRAVO Alejandra Bravo Flores 331

ACANCINO Alejandro Cancino Ordenes 61

ACARRASCO Carrasco Morales 10

ACARVAJAL Carvajal Marcelo 331

ACASTILLO Andres Castillo 610

ACEBALLOS Ángel Ceballos Castro 311 <<-----Problem line

The "Á" causes the RAR Extract Upload for Legacy connector to fail and report "File Not Found. Upload file name or path not found"

If I change the "Á" to "A" the file uploads without error.

How do I resolve this?

Hi Mike,

You have to change the encoding of the files to UTF-8, this usually fails on other encoding types.

Luis,

I tried changing the file encoding to UTF-8 and this worked as suggested. However my test file was a subset of the actual data file that needs to be uploaded. The full data file fails with same error message. Any ideas on how I should troubleshoot?

Hi Mike,

The log file should tell you the line that it's giving you trouble. In my experience things like empty lines, or trailing spaces in fields are common source of problems.
