Help about the error of installing the ides ehp5, error code:1073740791

hi All Basis Expert,

I have downloaded the ECC6.0EHP5, ides version. When I try to install it on windows server 2003 X64, I always got the error at phase 17, and the return code is 1073740791. the message like that:

it is related to the hardware. At the very beginning, the server is a local PC, and it only has 8GB RAM, when i change to another server, the error is gone.

There is no content in the log file "R3load.exe.log".

You can manually run the command, and check if's still return error

C:\usr\sap\EC2\SYS\exe\uc\NTAMD64\R3load.exe -testconnect

test also with R3trans -d

Hi Ross,

It should be your environment setting issue.

Regarding this error:

"(DB) ERROR this R3load operates only on ORACLE databases"

R3load checks the environment variable dbms_type to find out which DB

is being used. Could you please check whether parameters dbms_type

is set or have wrong value. In the environment of the user which is used

to run R3load (typically <sid>adm), dbms_type should have the value ORA

Where is the error ?

i feel R3load.exe -testconnect output doesn't seem complete, but at least I don't see error there.

R3trans -d should return (000), please check the generated trans.log file

have you confirm all the env settings has been set correctly, as per note given earlier ?

The kernel info is enough, but I don't see any known issue on 720 patch 46 on such..

So now, did you still get the same R3load testconnect error, when restart your installation ?

I suggest you refer back to installation manual, make sure all the relevant pre-processings requirements are done, and run the installation from local disk (copy all the installation files from CD/DVD to local disk), run with <sid>adm user

Stop the option and continue with it later.

Log files are written to C:\Program Files/sapinst_instdir/ERPEhP5/AS-ABAP/ORA/CENTRAL/.

hi Ross,

In general, issue with R3load testconnect, is around environment settings , instance/default profile

You should try to run 'R3load -testconnect' as <sid>adm, and re-check the output.

Also update R3Load to latest version from the marketplace under database dependent section

Check the trans.log from R3trans command.

if you still can't solve, please open a ticket to SAP Support.

Thank you very must for the suggestion ,I managed to solve the same error I faced after setting user environment variable dbms_type = ORA in environment variable.
