Problem printing the u00AE symbol with SWIN

Hi,

When I'am printing the ® symbol on a form with the device type HPL5 everything is fine!

But when I'am printing the same form with SWIN device type the ® symbol is overlapped with the previous standing text!

Any Ideas how to fix?

Many Thanks

Hello

The result perhaps will be better with the SWINCF device type as per note 812821.

Please see the article number 1603741 - Printing Euro and Trademark symbols

Hi Guys,

Thanks for your answers.

SWINCF is NOT fixing the problem!

Any other Ideas?

Many Thanks

Hi,

do you have a Unicode system ?

If not, please have a look at SAP note 447596.

Hi,

Which font do you use for the character? Do you use the same font for the surrounding text that overlaps?

Hi Adrian,

That is a very good question!

Because I tried to figure out which font the charater is using and now I know that the ® symbol is a graphic!

The Text in front is HELVE!

It's not fixing my problem but now I know what the problem is!

The Problem is that when I'am printing with SWIN the font has more width then printing with HPLJ5.

Thats why its overlapped!

Any Idea how to fix exept moving the graphic?

Thanks

HI Mario,

The registered character is Unicode character U+00AE(see http://www.unicode.org/charts/PDF/U0080.pdf).

So if you use the device type SWINCF, it should be fine to copy and paste the character into your form as a regular character instead of the graphic.

Otherwise, if you want to use the graphic, the only solution I see is to move the graphic.

Aidan

Hi,

If you have a Unicode system, try using the windows unicode cascading fonts device type SWINCF.(see SAP note #812821)
