How to avoid planned orders during future shutdown time in Manufac Plant

Former Member

Hi,

Our one manufacturing facility is planning a shutdown starting from 12/20/2011 through 01/05/2012. The plan is to start up production by 01/06/2012. The calendar has been closed using CR02. However we still have planned orders inside the period.

After checking, we found the Planned orders were created by APO Heuristic. and shutdown duration setting in downtime of Resource does not work if there is demand.

How to avoid having planned orders during the shutdown time in APO Heuristic?

Thanks

Su

Hi,

I assume, you updated your shut down times only in your ECC system calendar. The calendar maintained at the ERP level will not be considered for APO available capacity calculation. Since the calendars are not transferred to APO as such, you have to maintain the same shut down periods in APO calendar also.

So, maintain the shut down periods in APO calendar and try.

Hi Su

The SNP heuristic will respect this according to the settings you have made in the Global SNP settings profile (in customizing).

You can specify that the SNP heristic will look at the resource calendar - or the production calendar in the location.

The documentation says:

"Consideration of Resource Calendar

Use

This parameter is valid for the SNP heuristic. It specifies whether the heuristic considers the production calendar of the location or the calendar of the calendar resource when planning in-house production processes. The following options are available:

No Consideration: The SNP heuristic uses the production calendar of the location during planning. When creating planned orders, the heuristic considers the resource calendar. This is the default value.

Consideration of Resource Calendar: The SNP heuristic considers the resource calendar during planning as well as when creating planned orders. If no resource calendar is available, the system uses the production calendar.

"

So if you have assigned the calendar to the resource, you should use the setting "Consideration of Resource Calendar".

Hope this solves your issue.
