Authorization by Functional Area (?)

Hi everyone !

I've already read this: [Authorization by Funds Center - Report Painter Review|; and I've got similar problem but with FM areas ...

The old authorization objects aren't active at my system.

In trx PFCG, I modify one user role and add this object:

F_FMBU_ACC (Budgeting: Account Assignment)

For this field name:

FM_GRP_FAR (FM: Authorization Group of Functional Area)

I found another object and added it:

F_FMMD_FAR (Funds Management: Functional Area (Authorization Group))

Field Name:

FM_GRP_FAR (FM: Authorization Group of Functional Area)

In that field name, I put the same "name" of group of authorization that I give it to the master FM Area (trx: FM_FUNCTION).

This is all what I must to do?

Can u help me please?

Regards...

Hi,

I think, you could solve issue taking in account follow information:

Check if you have activate "old Authorizations under SPRO

PSM -> Funds Management Government -> Basic Setting -> Authorization

check -> Activate Old authorization check

If not activate and use them, then create the role for report painter only to Authorization Object "F_FMBU_ACC" . It shoudl work.

I hope this help, please if answer is useful for you don´t forget add point.

Regards, JLB

Hi Jose Luis (como andas?) xD

I really dont understand this:

> If not activate and use them, then create the role for report painter only to Authorization Object "F_FMBU_ACC" . It shoudl work.

It isnt active these "old items" ... how do I know if I use them? I mean, which are these "old items"?

Because in help section u could read old and new ones:

http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_05/helpdata/EN/f5/09598222d74d968691ebcbdf08fb83/content.htm

But... I dont use the old items in my roles...

Mmm ... (estoy mareado)

Could u explain more that about create the role for report painter only to that object?

Thanks!

Hi Osvaldo,

In the thread mentioned by you I have answered related to reporting issue which I believe is your issue also.

You should create your authorization groups in FM_FUNCTION in a way that suits your business requirement.

Then in PFCG you should use F_FMMD_FAR to restrict the authorization of the users for reporting.

It should be enough for your requirement. Did you try this already? Let me know your comments.

Best Regards,

Vanessa.

Hi Vanessa, nice to meet you.

I've already done that.

Please check if I'm right:

I went to FM_FUNCTION (Process Functional Area); press "change botton" --> went to "Authorization Group" field, add for example the same code name that my Functional Area, and Save the changes.

Then in PFCG I add F_FMMD_FAR and in field name: FM_GRP_FAR (FM: Authorization Group of Functional Area)

Add that "code" from Functional Area.

Well...

Dont work properly

Thanks for advance!

My mistake... if u change the "Authorization Group" at functional areas, u must do it for "all" functional areas. Dont miss something... if u left something without "Authorization Group", the system dont works properly 😛

Regards!

Ps: thread closed. (thanks for all gurus)
