How to Uptimize my Universes

Hi Guys,

I am new to BO world. I was asked to fill this role for the next 3 months while my college comes back from health callenges.

Please how should I start to uptimize the existing universes for better performance?

What do you call the report created from Xcelcius, is it called crystal report?

Hi,

Universe optimization can be done in a no of ways

1.Creating derived tables (similar to views in any database)

2. Using of aggregated tables (similar to sumarized tables in DB)

3. Increasing the array and array bind values in universe parameters.

4. Creation of short cut joins . i.e remivoing unwanted joins in the universe.

Xcelsius and Crystal reports are different tools like which we can create reports similar to BO. Xcelsius is mainly useful to represent data in graphical way by using speedo meters, different graphs, charts .....
