SAP SUPM architecture ; reuse existing BW or install dedicated BW ?

Hello,

I am a SAP Basis consultant and I have been asked to install SAP SUPM 2.0 in our Landscape.

There are several valuables documents regarding the installlation (installation guide, master guide, operation guide, implementation checklist, etc ) but Iam still confused on sap Supm architecture ;

As far as I understand it SAP SuPm sits on top of SAP BW :

Basically, SupM add-on/SCAs are installed on top of SAP BW systems (Abap and Java stacks),

do we have to resue existing BI systems (like we did for BPC for example) or do we have to deploy dedicated BI

systems to support BPC.

We already have SAP BI ladnscape running in productive systems, but I'm quite uncomfortable to reuse those existing systems ;

*For performances reasons ; SAP BPC, BO, are already running on top of our BI systems

*Because of Software dependencies issues,for example, SAP SuPM apparently requires recent packages of BI_CONT 704,

So, do you know , if there are any functional constraints to reuse an existing BI system for SupM ?

I had a look at the SuPm documentation, apparently SuPm comes with its own set of BI objects (/SRB/*),

But some standards BI objects are also mentioned (0Material).

Thank you very much for your attention

Regards

Hi,

I got my answer from SAP.

There is no functional constraint to reuse an existing BW system for Supm (as thhere is for BPC for example).

So we'll go for a dedicated BW system
