Dear All,
I am tring to do system copy from old system to a new system.
Old System : OS - Windows Server 2003 , DB - Oracle 8i
New System : OS - Windows Server 2003 , DB - Oracle 9.0.8
SAP R3 47x200 SR1 should be installed.
Now I have export the data successfully.
When I am importing the data by default it takes 5 tablespaces:
SYSTEM
PSAPUNDO
PSAPTEMP
PSAPDEV
PSAPDEVUSR
But in previous system there are 8 tablespaces:
SYSTEM
PSAPUNDO
PSAPTEMP
PSAPDEV
PSAPDEV620
PSAPDEVUSR
PSAPDEVIFCD
PSAPDEVIFCI
So during DB Instance installation I manually created three tablespaces. But after sometime it gives an error
ORA-01658: unable to create INITIAL extent for segment in tablespace PSAPDEVINTFCD
Please give a suggestion ASAP.
Hi Nurujjaman,
Check the note 73272 - ORA-01658 in database import

another possibility is to backup your Oracle 8 DB, restore it on the new server.
then, run the DBUA program on new server to convert your DB to ORacle 9.
I did this in the past.
yet another possibility, if your DB is on a SAN, shutdown ORacle 8 DB, ask your SAN admin to move database related drives, then upgrade its contents using DBUA on new server. I also used that strategy and it had cost me less than 30 minutes downtime to move to new server.
I would take a full backup before attempting this trick.
