Dear Techies,
We have our Solution Manager 7 EhP1 on windows 32 bit system running on Oracle 10G.
Oracle upgrade is in our plan, but before going with Oracle upgrade I just wanted to check below things.
If I mix both the below upgrades, what would be the better approach which can be executed with a short downtimes and efforts.
1) Windows 32 bit to 64 bit
2) Oracle upgrade from 10G to 11gR2
If I mix the below upgrades -
1) Windows 32 bit to 64 bit
2) Solution Manager upgrade from 7 EhP1 to 7.1
3) Oracle upgrade from 10G to 11gR2
Regards,
Nick Loy
Hi,
I would do the following:
1) Export system from 32 bit version. While importing it on 64 bit platform install oracle as 11g.
2) Upgrade from 7.01 to 7.1
Thanks
Sunny

Hi Nick,
First set will be good because oracle software installation and preparations related to oracle upgrade will get mixed up along with WIN32 to WIN 64 bit upgrade
Second set of mix upgrades will almost be same as first set of upgrades because solman upgrade from 7.01 to 7.1 will be independent of 32-64/10g-11g upgrade and in any case would be carried out separately.
Thanks
