WBS to Material

Dear All ,

I am SD consultant and wants to know

1. Can We assign material to a WBS ?

2. Can we assign a WBS to material ?

How and what are the prerequisites for the both the option ?

Hi,

A material can be assigned to an activity as a material component and an activity can be assigned to a WBS Element. That is there general flow.

Orders like purchase orders, sales orders etc can be assigned to WBS Elements.

You can assign materials to a WBS by using easy cost planning.

I don t get the point of assigning a wbs to a material, i don t think you can.

Please explain what did you mean by assign?

Is it attaching material componnets to WBS or tranfere materials to WBS.

Material tranfering to WBS(project stocks ) is possible via transferpostings movements like 415

No.

2. Can we assign a WBS to material ?

No

You can neither assign a material to a WBS nor assign a WBS to a material. You can assign material only to an activity in the project structure. However you can account assign the WBS to a purchase order or a sales order.
