I think if we want to connect Datastage either PX 7.0 or 6.0 you have a additional plugin for SAP R/3. So if you have plugin then you can connect to R/3 directly. But as far as my knowledge you dont have direct access to XI. But you have a work around for this.
If you want to transfer data from datastage what you can do in datastage is, pick up the source data from a database then transform your data with different stages in datastage as per your requirement and then finally you print a Comma Separated file. Then XI can pick up this .csv file using file adapter and can send to a database or as a file once again. Here instead of .csv file you can send to a database also. Then XI will pick up this data using JDBC adapter.
