Hello

I have a document that contains a status network.

When document is RE (Released) has 2 originals (PDF and DOC).

My question is:

I need a profile that has following rules:

1 - User can access both originals (PDF or DOC)

2 - Another user can access only PDF.

Can I help you?

Regards

HI,

Your problem cannot be solved by just PFCG. Try this approach

1) Create profile which displays only the PDF files.

2) once u do that u'll observe that in cv03n u get a filter icon which controls whether all files or only pdf appears

3) now create a transaction variant for cv03n using SHD0 and disable the filter icon in this variant.

4) assign a t_code to this variant and then instead of giving access to cv03n for all users.. provide access to this new variant t_code to the users who are to have restricted access.

This works pretty well. tried and tested solution.

Hello Pradeepkumar

Thank you very much for your reply, but we won't use easyDMS.

As possible to do a profile in t-code PFCG to solve my problem?

Thank you very much

In case you have not opted for easyDMS in your landscape, then you may use the 'Profile' feature in standard DMS.Using 'Profile',you can restrict selected users from enabling 'Display' and 'Print' options of originals within a DIR.

For eg: A DIR contains 2 originals of 2 WS application types of type PDF and Word, you may restrict the user from viewing a particualar original of a WS appliation type like PDF and view the remaining Word original or both. You can as well default a storage location for a WS application here. The path for setting up 'Profiles' is SPRO > CA Components > General Data > Define Profile.

Incase you are using easyDMS, then an easier approach to handle this scenario is to use the Access Control List (ACL) feature to restrict originals to specific users.
