Dear Jason,
Pls let me know at what level you want the batch to be unique?
Batch can be unique at plant level:-
Indicates that batches are unique at material/plant level, that is, with regard to identical constituents, the batch is dependent on the plant.
The same batch number can also be assigned to other material/plant combinations.
Example
u2022 Plant 0001 Material X Batch 1
u2022 Plant 0002 Material X Batch 1
u2022 Plant 0001 Material Y Batch 1
Identity of constituents cannot be ensured.
Batch can be unique at material level:-
Indicates that batches are unique at material level, that is, due to identical constituents, the batch is independent of any plant.
The same batch number can also be assigned to another material.
Example
a) Plant 0001 Material X Batch 1
b) Plant 0002 Material X Batch 1
c) Plant 0001 Material Y Batch 1
a) and b) have identical constituents.
Batch can be unique at client level for a material:-
Indicates that batches are managed uniquely for exactly one material, that is, independently of the plant, the same batch can exist only once for all materials.
Example
a) Plant 0001 Material X Batch 1
b) Plant 0002 Material X Batch 1
c) Plant 0001 Material Y Batch 2 (batch 1 is not possible)
a) and b) have identical constituents.
It depends up on the selection you do for the radio button at the batch level configuration in SPRO

Shyamal
