Structural Authorization in Talent Management

Hi Experts,

Background:

One appraisal template (e.g. Object ID: 12345678) plan to be used for all companies and authorization requirement is to restrict PHAP_ADMIN_PA access by company using the structural authorization approach. Current profile work for master data but not talent management functionality.

Issue:

We're implementing structural authorization in both PA and PD and all relevant switches have been activated accordingly - (1) AUTSW/INCON (Master Data Contex), (2) AUTSW/PERNR (Personnel Number Check), (3) HAP00/AUTHO (Activate Extended Authorization Check). However, it does not restrict appraisal form access by company (object ID 'O') defined in profile.

If I understand it correctly, the structural authorization in talent management control using the object ID defined in role/profile - in this case is VA. Does it mean all company should have their own appraisal template (specific Object ID) in order to achieve the required restriction? Appreciate your clarification and advice to move forward.

Best Regards.

Hi All,

The issue has been resolved.

Just to share the findings, structural authorization in Talent Management does control using Object ID - specific ID need to be defined in authorization profiles. As for my case, one appraisal template (one Object ID) remain to be used for all. As a workaround, technical team come to the rescue and develop custom authorization checking as required.

Best Regards
