APO without DP?

Hi Experts,

all APO projects I did so far had DP as part of functions, but there is a new APO project coming and it's from client side that they don't want DP, reason given is their current ECC demand data is not good enough.

Is it possible APO running without DP? What triggers future demand in APO in this case?

TIA

Yes

Well, you don't have to use forecasts at all. Many companies run solely on actual sales backlog, and do not use forecasts. Or, they may run all of the lower level parts using Reorder point, and are not concerned with forecasts..

It is also possible to use the LIS forecasts in ERP to create Planned Independent requirements, and thereafter replicate them into APO.

Rather than ask us, though, you should be asking the client what are his expectations. He should be telling you how he wants the solution to work.

Hi,

Of course it is possible to not use DP in APO.

DP is used to forecast PIRs in the future, which could also be done in other ways, like, LIS in R/3.

Then you only need to CIF the PIR from ECC to APO, and other APO funtionality (SNP etc.) can plan based on the PIRs (forecast orders).
