COpying Oracle RDBMS and patch in to server using binary mode resolved issue.

replace file tmp/sapinst_exe.2881.1313753800/SAPCAR with a newer version from service.sap.com/patches

Hi eric,

I have updated file SAPCAR for HP UX IA 64 which is my Processor architecture

Support Packages and Patches - S" SAPCAR" SAPCAR 7.00

SAPCAR 7.00 -> HP-UX on IA64 64bit

SAPCAR_0-10003682.exe SAPCAR 0 Info 8351 24.05.2006

Appreantly issue remains same. From some unix forums it is understood copying media from local harddisk to WINSCP might be faulty.

What is the standard protocol to be followed for copying media in to Unix systems, any standard recommdation.

Thanks,

Rahul

Hi,

When you copy file from local system to unix, make sure that mode should be binary. Also, could you please try to extract ORA110264.SAR file manually from SAPCAR in /tmp/sapinst_exe.2881.1313753800 and check if file is corrupted or not.

>/tmp/sapinst_exe.2881.1313753800/SAPCAR -x -v -g -i -R /oracle/stage/102_64 -f /oracle/EED/sapreorg/dump/oracle1 >/OR110264.SAR

Thanks

Hi sunny,

SAPCAR -xvf i working fine...and i did the same process of copying file in binary mode...

I removed old Oracle rdbms software and uploaded again in to same location with binary mode.

I think i am through with that error and waiting for the sapinst tool to prompt for installing Database.I ill update on successful result

Thanks,

Rahul
