Max Db homogenous system copy backup restore

Hi all,

We are planning to do a homogeneous system copy for max db version 7.8.Db and CI are on the same host.My doubt is that dba team will copy over the data from source to target.In sapinst since can we choose distributed system installation option where just the ci export is there since the data is being copied over by the dba team we just need the ci export.

I understand that you want to copy only the CI from one host to the other, is that correct? Please, clarify a little bit more about the current issue.

In order to the system copy, you should follow the exact steps from the system copy guide, which can be found under:

Anyway, provide more information about the system:

1) What is the product version? NW 7.0?

2) Is it ABAP, Java or dual stack system?

3) How do you plan to do the copy? export/import or backup/restore?

4) What is the OS/DB versions of the source and target systems?

My question is that we have a ci and db residing on the same system.Can we use the distrubuted system installation option since the database will be copied over?
