SAP Smart Form printout with character error

Former Member

Dear experts!

I am facing with the problems in SAP Smart form Printing. In the past, we use SAP ECC6.0 with Windows XP, the smart form reports printed out normally . But after that, all PCs of users are installed Windows 7, and when we try to get Smart form in Print Preview mode, the Vietnamese characters display in normal without errors, but if these reports get paper printout or export to the errors come again. The errors effect on all PCs which install Windows 7.

I think the errors due to Windows 7, but I don't know how to fix the issue.

Information about SAP GUI we currently use:

SAP GUI Version 720

Patch level 7

Any contributions also get points!

Thanks so much for your attention!

Best Regards.

Hi,

If you are printing check form.

Basis people have to install some fonts for the printer, to print in the check form.

Ask them whether the MICR fonts has to be installed or not.

Hi Trish,

Do you use a unicode devie type like SWINCF?

If it works fine from SAP with XP, then it seems all is fine regarding the cascading fonts settings(SAP note #812821).

Perhaps it is related to the language packs and font files installed in the Windows 7 systems. Can you check that the same font files are intalled in both Windows 7 and XP systems?

Hi Trish,

What is the error you are getting. Is it that the Vietnamese characters being printed as '#'.

If yes then it has got to do with your printer. The printer needs to have drivers for this language assuming the printer too is newly installed or is replaced recently.

Hope this helps.

Dear Abkaps;

I am sure that the errors not due to Printers, because users also test in Development client and Production client;

In Development client, the errors not come

But in the Production environment, they stuck with Vietnamese characters error

And at anywhere, such as my office, my home and in customer sites, Production client always get this error with smart form paper printed out.

Hi

Basis has to install some fonts for the printer.

Ask them whether any request is pending or any fonts has to be installed.

It is the problem with printer not an abap.

Regards,

Prakash.
