Can we use both operational area and service provider relationship in IDE?

Hi Experts,

We are implementing IDE for a new market and started out by configuring control parameter based on service provider relationship. Our client is already part of another deregulated market and now we realize that the service provider for the other market was based on the operational area where they don't use any supply scenario or service provider. The documentation says we can only have one communication control parameter. Is there anyway/configuration which can permit determination of service based on both operational area and service provider relationship?

One way is to change the other markert service providers to have service provider agreement, but this has a huge impact on changing all other existing development.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks,

Vibhor

Hi Vibhor,

You can not customize both operational area and supply scenario together. You have to choose either one of these. If the billable and non-billable service provider can be determined automatically by configuration or by any rule, you can go with supply scnario.

However if you go by operantional area concept, you can store the non-billable services for each operational area. You are correct if you want to change the exeisting operational area configuration to supply scenario, there are many impacts and risk associated with it.

If you are going for a complete re-implementation of IDE, you can go for supply scenario concept. Otherwise it is risky to change existing operantional area configuration.

Hope it helps.

Thanks,
