oracle OLAP

Does WEBI support oracle OLAP? I don't see that's an option when we create a new universe? I thought having a oracle OLAP will help normal SQL query performance as well, since Oracle will optimize the query to take advantage of the OLAP.

Hi,

Rather than move all your data to another cube like SSAS as has been suggested, or go back to the relational source, why not just use Voyager to connect directly to the Oracle OLAP cube you have already built?

Simba's MDX Provider for Oracle OLAP allows Voyager to do this.

This would be much simpler than introducing a new tier of server (SSAS), and allows you to take advantage of the performance of the OLAP engine in the Oracle database.

in particular, look at the document that describes how to set this up:

In 11.2, and 11.1 as well I think, you can certainly create a cube materialised view which can be a query rewrite target for relational queries, and which can be maintained automatically with changes to relational data. However this would be invisible to the application and you'd still create your universe with an Oracle RDBMS data source as the query rewrite is internal to the database.

The Oracle docs have got some good examples of this.

Hi,

you can use voyager to create OLAP Reports.Using voyager you can directly connect to OLAP Cube created in SSAS.

This link is useful to do your process easily:
